Why So Many People Love Emma Miller: Joy, Faith, and the Courage to Be Real
Share
Last year I attended a talent show at ScenicView Academy and met a young woman named Emma Miller. At the time, I had no idea that millions of people would soon come to know and love her. What I noticed first was her smile.
It was genuine, joyful, and contagious.
For those of you who don't already know, QA Bags was created for two purposes: to provide a meaningful work opportunity for my autistic son and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through products designed to inspire faith and family. Because of that mission, I am always drawn to people who remind us of the worth and potential of every child of God.
Emma is one of those people
A Young Woman Full of Joy
Emma Miller was born in 2002 and grew up in a loving Latter-day Saint family with two brothers. She graduated from high school in 2020 and has always loved singing and performing.
From a young age, Emma delighted in making people laugh. She enjoyed doing voices and character impressions and even taught herself how to talk like Donald Duck when she was a little girl.
Her mother lovingly describes her as "unintentionally hilarious."
I think many people understand exactly what that means after spending a few minutes with Emma.
She finds joy in the little things that many of us rush past. She notices the good. She celebrates simple moments. She approaches life with an enthusiasm that is refreshing in a world that often feels overly complicated.
Despite the challenges that come with being on the autism spectrum, Emma chooses joy again and again.
Why People Love Emma
When I think of Emma, these are the words that come to mind: Real. Genuine. Compassionate. Intelligent. Joyful.
She loves life. She loves people. She is completely herself. There is no pretending with Emma. What you see is what you get, and people are drawn to that authenticity. In a culture that often encourages us to conform, Emma stands out because she is comfortable being exactly who she is. And that takes courage.
Love On the Spectrum
Emma's uplifting personality and love of performing eventually led her to apply for the Netflix series Love on the Spectrum. She applied in February 2025 and was accepted almost immediately. Filming for Season 4 of the show began just six weeks later.
One thing I particularly admire about Emma is her willingness to be open about her faith. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she did not hide an important part of who she is, even in an environment where religious beliefs are not always understood or encouraged.
That quiet confidence says a lot about her character.
Since appearing on the show, Emma has become a favorite among viewers. Today, more than 100,000 people follow her journey on social media, not because she is trying to be someone else, but because she is authentically herself.
People recognize sincerity when they see it. And Emma has plenty of it.
A Special Celebration
Emma and I have recently began a special giveaway to celebrate her reaching 100K followers on Instagram and Facebook. To mark the occasion, I personally created three gifts:

These gifts were made especially for this celebration and is a part of a fun giveaway. But this giveaway is about more than just getting a prize, it is also about:
- Every person who has ever faced challenges and kept moving forward
- Every parent who worries about their child and wonders what the future will hold
- Every person who has a dream and keeps working toward it one small step at a time
- Choosing joy
- Believing that our differences are not weaknesses but gifts
- Remembering that God knows each of us personally. He knows our circumstances, our struggles, our hopes, and our potential. He walks beside us as we grow, learn, and become who He created us to be
Emma's story is a reminder that success does not come from being perfect. It comes from being authentic, courageous, and willing to keep showing up.
As I watch Emma's influence continue to grow, I am grateful for the light she brings to so many people.
Congratulations, Emma, on reaching 100K followers! And more importantly, thank you for being exactly who you are. The world needs more people like you.
